"The goal for the 5k run/walk was to bring the community, legal and non-legal, together in a setting that was both competitive and relaxed and to raise awareness for the law school and Saltman Center," said David J. Saltman, Vice President of The Vista Group.
The walk started at 9 a.m., both beginning and finishing in front of the law school. Although Saltman was hoping for 200 participants, he said that 120 was an excellent amount for the event's first year. Because of that success, Saltman added that the Center is planning to do another walk next year.
"[The event was a] real collaborative effort to raise awareness for the law school and bring the community together. We had law students, local law firm attorneys, police officers, the general public, the UNLV cross country team that helped man the mileage center," Saltman said.
"We had a great turnout, enjoyable atmosphere, and a lot of fun."
