The Frank A. Schreck Gaming Law Moot Court Competition is hosted by William S. Boyd School of Law's Society of Advocates Moot Court Competition Team, and the UNLV Gaming Law Journal.

The 2026 Frank A. Schreck Gaming Law Moot Court Competition was on February 27-28, 2026. 

The Competition focuses on emerging issues at the intersection of gaming law and regulation. Competitors will hone their appellate advocacy skills before prominent jurists and practitioners in the gaming capital of the world: Las Vegas, Nevada!

Registration:

  • Registration opens Monday, September 1, 2025
  • Early Bird Registration ends October 31
  • Regular Registration ends December 12, 2025

Registration for the competition will close on the deadline, or once there are 30 registered teams, whichever is sooner.

The appellate record will be released to competitors on December 15, 2025. Briefs will be due by January 16, 2026.

  • Early-bird registration costs $675 for one team and $1,350 for two teams
  • Regular registration costs $750 for one team and $1,450 for two teams

What is the refund policy?

Refunds will be provided minus a 10% processing fee prior to December 15, 2025. No refunds will be permitted after the fact problem is released to the teams.

Can I register after the fact problem is released?

Yes, only if there is space available after registration ends. Please email schreckmcc@law.unlv.edu to request to register after the registration closes.
