Your Partner in Law School and Bar Exam Success

The Academic Success Program (ASP) is dedicated to helping students thrive from orientation to graduation — and beyond. Whether you are building foundational legal skills, preparing for final exams, or getting ready for the bar, ASP provides the tools, resources, and support necessary to succeed in a demanding law school environment.

As a branch of the Student Affairs Department, ASP is available to all students. We strongly encourage everyone to participate, particularly those seeking individualized mentoring, advising, or specialized study strategies.

Individualized Assistance & Peer Support

We provide multiple pathways for students to receive personalized guidance:

Professional Appointments: You may schedule an appointment with our ASP Director, Professor Nachman Gutowski, or Raef Granger.
ASP Fellows (CASE): The Center for Academic Success and Enrichment (CASE) is a component of ASP featuring selected students (ASP Fellows) trained to facilitate learning as peer mentors.
- Drop-ins: Fellows are available on a drop-in basis (no appointment needed).
- Appointments: You can also book formal sessions with an ASP Fellow.
- Note: Please be aware that during peak times (midterms, LP brief deadlines, and finals), CASE schedules may be busier than normal.

Bar Examination Preparation

ASP provides comprehensive support throughout the bar preparation period to help students transition from law school to legal practice.

Lectures & Feedback: We offer a series of pre-bar exam lectures and opportunities for thoughtful, individualized feedback on bar prep materials.
Bar Exam Kickoff Week & Bar Bootcamp: Held during the spring semester, these events help students build the mindset and academic stamina required for the summer study period.
Faculty Support: Our dedicated faculty support students every step of the way, helping deepen legal understanding and offering personalized academic guidance.
Bar Exam Scholarship Program: To ensure finances don’t stand in the way of success, students can apply for scholarships to help offset the costs of bar review courses and study materials.

All students are strongly encouraged to engage with ASP early and often to maximize their academic potential.
