Tera Hodge was born in Las Vegas and attended high school at Advanced Technologies Academy. She received her B.A. in History from UNLV, where she graduated summa cum laude. She then earned her J.D. from William S. Boyd School of Law.
During law school, Ms. Hodge externed for United States Magistrate Judge Peggy A. Leen and interned for the Department of Justice, Executive Office for Immigration Review. As a student attorney in the Thomas & Mack Legal Clinic, Ms. Hodge assisted victims of crime and children in foster care with petitions for immigration relief. As a law clerk for the Legal Aid Center of Southern Nevada, she prepared VAWA and U-Visa petitions for victims of domestic violence.
Following graduation, Ms. Hodge was awarded the Faiss Fellowship and joined Nevada Legal Services as a staff attorney. Before joining the Career Development Office, she was a staff attorney in the Domestic Violence Unit of the Legal Aid Center of Southern Nevada where she represented clients in domestic and immigration matters.
