Dean Durand received his B.A. in Economics from the University of New Mexico and his J.D. from Stanford Law School, where he served as a resident advisor and was a member of the Latino Law Students Association. After graduating from Stanford, he was an associate with the law firm of Sherman and Howard in Denver, Colorado, specializing in environmental law. From 1991 to 1998, he was Assistant Dean for Student Affairs at The George Washington University Law School in Washington, D.C., where he worked with a student body of over 1600. In 1998, he joined the Boyd School of Law administration, serving as Assistant Dean for Admissions and Financial Aid until 2005.
