  Education:
B.A. summa cum laude, St. Francis College (New York) , 1976
J.D., New York University School of Law, 1981
   
  Professor Johnson graduated in 1981 from New York University School of Law, where he was managing editor of the New York University Law Review. He was in private tax practice in New York City, after which he served as a Senior Attorney with the IRS Chief Counsel’s Office and a Special Assistant United States Attorney. He has also taught at Indiana University School of Law and visited at Chicago-Kent College of Law. He has written numerous books and articles on Tax Law and speaks frequently at conferences throughout the United States. Professor Johnson’s publications have been cited in decisions by the United States Supreme Court, federal circuit and district courts, the Court of Federal Claims, the Bankruptcy Court, the Tax Court and in legal interpretations issued by the Internal Revenue Service.
