Richard J. Morgan
Dean Morgan was the founding dean of the William S. Boyd School of Law, a position he held from September 1997 through June 2007. His highly distinguished career in legal education spanned 27 years and included service as dean of the colleges of law at the University of Wyoming and Arizona State University, as well as Interim Dean of the University of Nevada, Las Vegas, College of Business. Dean Morgan earned his B.A. in Political Science at the University of California, Berkeley in 1967. In 1971 he received his J.D. from UCLA, where he was an editor of the UCLA Law Review. He practiced with the Los Angeles law firm of Nossaman, Kreuger & Marsh in the corporate/securities areas from 1971 to 1980. He was a professor at the Arizona State University College of Law from 1980 to 1987 and served as Associate Dean from 1983 to 1987. He was Dean at the University of Wyoming College of Law from 1987 to 1990 and returned to the Arizona State University College of Law in 1990 where he served as Dean and Professor of Law until 1997. He is currently Of Counsel with Lionel Sawyer & Collins and continues to serve on numerous committees and task groups in the legal community and in legal academia.
