Students enrolled in the Juvenile Justice Clinic represent juveniles in cases involving criminal charges and school discipline. Under the supervision of a faculty member, students are responsible for interviewing clients and potential witnesses; negotiating with opposing parties or counsel; preparing pleadings; and conducting juvenile court and school disciplinary hearings and trials. Students participate in a twice-weekly seminar and are expected to devote an average of three hours per credit hour each week to clinic activity.
