Students enrolled in the Immigration Clinic represent clients in judicial and administrative proceedings involving immigration and related matters. Under the supervision of a faculty member, students are responsible for client interviewing and fact development, legal research and analysis, development of factual and expert affidavits and testimony, preparation of applications and memoranda of law, and representation in judicial and administrative hearings. Some students may work on appellate and amicus matters. Students participate in a twice-weekly seminar and are expected to devote an average of three hours per credit hour each week to clinic activity. Preference will be given to students who have taken or are concurrently enrolled in Immigration Law.
