Schedule of upcoming lectures and workshops:
Bar Preparation Lectures
CASE Skills Workshops

CASE: The Center for Academic Success and Enrichment (CASE) is a component of the law school's Academic Success Program.

Skills Workshops: Additionally, the Academic Success Program routinely offers skills workshops to all interested students, detailing essential law school skills such as note-taking, briefing cases, outlining and exam-taking techniques. Workshops on handling stress and managing time effectively are also offered.  All students are encouraged to attend. For a list of upcoming workshops, click here (PDF).

One-on-One Assistance: Individualized academic counseling is also available for those students seeking personalized assistance in any subject area.  Assistance is also available for recent graduates studying for the bar.  Individual meetings allow students to identify their academic strengths and weakness, as well as their learning styles.  This allows students to develop personally tailored study schedules.

To make an appointment with Jennifer Carr, contact Cheryl Eng at: 895-0490 or cheryl.eng@unlv.edu. Professor Pavel Wonsowicz is writing an evidence textbook and will be on sabbatical during the Spring 2008 semester.

For entering students: The Academic Success Program participates in the Introduction to Law Week by providing an overview of strategies for success in law school.

For current students: The Academic Success Program maintains a TWEN page with a bank of practice exam questions, Skills Workshops Powerpoints, and other useful information (TWEN is an acronym for “The West Education Network”). To register for TWEN, go to http://lawschool.westlaw.com, click on the “TWEN” tab, and follow the instructions.

The Academic Success Program’s CASE office also has a lending library with material on substantive legal topics, study aids and legal writing.

Early Bar Preparation Program: For our graduates, the Academic Success Program provides a series of pre-bar lectures to assist in preparing to take the bar, as well as opportunities for thoughtful feedback and individualized assistance in bar preparation.  Click here for a schedule of the upcoming bar preparation lectures.
